Fresh Homemade Fettuccine

Total Time 45 minutes
Cuisine Italian

Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 eggs

Instructions

  • Form a well with the flour. Crack the eggs in the well
  • Mix the flour and eggs together and knead to form a ball. It gets super messy and sticky! If it is a bit on the stickier side, add a bit more flour (don't overdo it!). You should have a doughy, yellowish, non-sticky ball.
  • Continue to knead for about 5-10 minutes. The test to know when it's ready is that when you press into the dough, it's bouncy.
  • Once the dough ball is ready, wrap it in cling film and rest in the fridge for about 30 mins.
  • To prepare the dough for the machine, split the dough ball in half. Let the other half rest aside while you work with the first half. To prepare the machine for the dough, dust some flour before rolling it out. Start with 0 setting, and continue rolling out and adjusting the setting each time you roll it through the machine up until setting 6. Continuously flour the dough after each time you roll to avoid the dough sticking together. If the dough sticks together, you will have to start from the beginning ☹️
  • Once you're done rolling out the dough, roll the dough out through the fettuccine setting and watch the magic happen! Flour the freshly rolled out fettuccine to avoid it from sticking together. Make sure you flour it thoroughly.
  • To cook the fettuccine, boil and salt the water in a pot. Once water is boiling, throw in the fettuccine to cook for about ~3 minutes. Be careful not to overcook! You can also taste to check if it's cooked.
  • Serve with the sauce of your choice.
